The ARTISAN X-SR200 Solvent Recovery System is the result of a collaboration between Artisan Industries Inc. and SciPhy Systems. For 85 years, Artisan has provided processing equipment for edible oils, nutraceuticals and other key processing industries. Artisan’s team of Chemical, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers has developed high efficiency processing systems that lower costs and improve purity in multiple applications. SciPhy Systems' hemp extraction and processing experts have applied extensive botanical extraction, ingredient manufacturing, and equipment design expertise to extraction facility development projects in multiple markets.

Rototherm® Thin Film Evaporator
A robust and cost-effective plug-and-play solution for initial separation of solvent from dilute hemp extract solution starts the X-SR200 process. This part of the system, the X-Spiral by Molecular Forces LLC, utilizes membranes to continuously remove liquid solvent from the extracted oil / solvent mix which can then be re-used immediately.
The ARTISAN X-SR200 offers secondary solvent recovery as well as decarboxylation. The process is built around decades of innovation and optimization of the Artisan Rototherm® thin film evaporator. The Rototherm® provides robust and compact continuous stripping from 70% (or lower) starting solvent concentration down to trace levels. Continuous solvent stripping eliminates the labor intensive and often inconsistent process of batch solvent stripping typically handled by either rotary evaporators, or pot stills. Featuring a horizontal thin-film design.

High-Efficiency Membrane Integration
High-efficiency membranes assure optimal performance with low total cost of ownership. Fully integrated, Class 1 Division 2 skid designs include 4 membrane housings with complete bypass capability and fully drainable piping for optimal ease of maintenance.
Horizontal Thin-Film
The horizontal orientation of the Rototherm® prevents the thin film from being affected by gravity. This provides enormous flexibility with regards to the feed rate and allows for control over process stream retention time and final product concentration.
Built to Last
The Rototherm® is easy to maintain as it has relatively few moving parts. The bearings are installed outside the product flow area. The X-SR200 utilizes only stainless-steel product contact parts; this eliminates the need for frequent replacement of PTFE/Teflon wipers or rollers. Pressure vessels are designed to robust ASME standards for safety and reliability.
