Its most likely YUUUUUUUGE! and at the rate CBD isolate prices are going you would only need to produce 100,000 kgs to cover the purchase cost!

Wrong. You would need to SELL 100,000 kg to cover the cost.

Biggest issue I see with the unit is no certification, meaning to legally use it, one would need to have it certified. That isn’t hard to do, but it takes time and some money. With as shiny and pretty as it is, the cost has to be up there. Not sure the extra time and effort would be worth it.

Oh I’m pretty certain they are certified, they are made by Heinkel who makes a lot of pharma equipment and have been in business for over 100 years.

I’m sure the price it astronomical but it does have some really trick features like continuous operation with an added filter vessel, no large cbd slabs with the low tolerance toothed mixing paddle that sweeps the sides.

staying on “topic.” lol

Has anyone ever used a double cone vacuum dryer for large batches of isolate solvent purging? Seems like a really good way to always stir the isolate while drying to get down to non detectable levels of solvent.

Something similar to this can be found used from a lot of different industries. usually its a jackets vessel and you use fluid to heat vs an oven to heat.

Having worked for equipment manufacturers in the industry, I would assume that if it was certified, it would say so, not use language like “meets standards of” or “built in compliance with”… They way they word it sounds just like the guarantees on Chinese equipment.

I totally agree, that is super misleading and I think its due to their branched off website called cannabis centrifuge, which also doesnt fit what this is doing very well. it seems like they took some of their equipment and are trying to sell it as a package for our industry.

Here is a link to their main site. https://www.heinkel.com/product/filter-dryer-pharma/

Certs:
EU-Type Examination Certificate INERIS the 2014/34/EU Directive, or with electrical components UL approved for operation in a Class 1, Division 1 or 2, Groups C&D environment

It doesn’t say UL approved or certified. It says it has EU certs, but “EU-Type Examination Certificate INERIS the 2014/34/EU Directive, or with electrical components UL approved for operation in a Class 1, Division 1 or 2, Groups C&D environment” means that it is almost certainly not certified. Made with UL listed parts just makes it easier to have it certified, does not make it certified.

That being said, I wouldn’t want to deny myself the opportunity to play with one and work it for a while…

Good point, and yea I think we can all agree it would be fun to play with.

There are a few used pieces of equipment similar to this that we have talked about buying to see what they are capable of.

Can anybody point me to a good SOP for crystallization in a reactor? I’m still trying to figure out why I need one. Are people doing recrystallization of pre-washed Diamonds after supersaturating in pentane? Or washing the diamonds in here? Or are they growing the diamonds in these?
